David A. Holland

David A. Holland is in way over his head most of the time. He divides the balance of his limited time between misplaced confidence and dangerous complacency.
Inexplicably, his wife of 20+ years thinks he’s handsome and his three daughters think him very kind and smart. And these happy blessings are all the evidence he needs to justify his belief in a benevolent, miracle-working God.
He is the co-author of the book Paul Harvey’s America: The Life, Art and Faith of a Man who Transformed Radio and Inspired a Nation. Previously, he has ghost written dozens of other books but can’t tell you which ones or for whom because of confidentiality agreements and such. But believe him when he says you would be so impressed if you knew. Or not.
Out of college, he worked for a small group of weekly newspapers and did everything from writing hard news, features, and sports; to shooting and processing photography. He later pursued an interest in radio, landing a job producing the morning show at KCNN radio in Oklahoma City; and later served as News Director at KJIL in that same sprawling metropolis; then Director of Affiliate Relations for The NewsTalk Radio Network.
Then he did a bunch of other stuff involving public policy, elections, and the culture wars.
Eventually, he moved to Dallas and co-founded Cobalt Bridge Multichannel and Cobalt Bridge Media.

Nice format. nice Blather.

Still the memory stays, for always, my heart says, Danke Schoen.

Thanks for the link, I’m glad you got your blogroll working again.
Nice new digs, keep up the good work.

David, I hope that this is the correct venue to write to you. I’m sure that you won’t remember me, but I was a roommate of Laura’s in college. I remember how exciting it was to inherit your furniture for our little apartment! She wrote me about your blog in reference your father’s illness. It was very touching. I’ve very much enjoyed reading the other articles. I was shocked to see that your girls are teenagers because I remember when you and your beautiful wife were expecting #2. I surprised myself because I even remember all 3 of their names (although I won’t write them on the internet :)). I’ve been married since 1993 and have 4 children myself– all of whom age too quickly also. Anyway, I only wanted to tell you that inside I hollar a hearty “AMEN” when I read your articles and will continue to enjoy your writings. God bless!
David,
Brilliant blather! Wieldy wincing! Repititious repeating–sometimes I read it twice to enjoy it more–or understand it more!
You are a vital voice crying to your generation and the next!
I hear you.
Keep up the great writing and amazing insight.
I’m now enjoying your daily perspectives on life, love, and the pursuit of life after tuition…..
You’re a fine man!
David,
I am enjoying all the blogs now. I had only been reading the one on the Holland/Simpson site. It was great to hear from you. (BTW, Bucketheads wedding was great!)
Hey David!
I’ve been enjoying your posts off and on since our old friend Sally ended up in a more respectable position at EOSC with a more advanced degree than we thought possible. She told me you had visited, I did a search, and there you were…great combination of entertainment and thought provoking commentary.
I would love to visit more sometime offline. JD and I have only visited at the VERY infrequent reunions we’ve both attended. I saw Jay a couple of years back when my grandad died, and I hear from Steph and the old folk when something significant happens.
If you ever have the time or inclination, drop me a line.
Blessings,
Stephen
Hey Stephen. Welcome! Saw your sister for the first time in an eon at our 30th HS reunion a few months back.
I’ll throw you an email!
David, I see that you’re not a Huckabee fan, I’m still undecided. Unfortunately, who I think would be the best president seems to be the worst candidate and I don’t expect Fred to still be in the race when we (OK) vote. I’ve read that you think Huckabee is Christian left, but I can’t find anything like that in his record. I’ve been told by others that the SBC considers him liberal. Where can I find this info? I’d like to know on what issues he leans to the left and how far. If it comes to a choice between Romney (obvious misgivings), Guiliani (ugh, politically and personally– his kids won’t vote for him– just ugh), McCain (campaign finance, filibustering rule buster, etc.), and Huck, then Huck is looking better. It’s sad when we have to eliminate candidates rather than get behind one person with whom we really agree. Anyway, this is a long note. Please let me know a website where I can see for myself. Thanks!
I’m still laughing about the underware ad. That arrow is pretty discreet. lol
Congrats on the new book you are co-authoring. Get-r-done.
Cheers
Darrell
